HP Unveils HP EliteBook Folio With Windows 10 Pro

HP has recently announced a new PC, the HP EliteBook Folio with Windows 10 Pro. The new PC is built in collaboration with Microsoft and Skype for Business so that it can deliver a first-class experience for the users.

The device is sleek and premium in design. It is the lightest and the thinnest HP notebook, which is designed from the ground up and takes advantage of the latest technology from Microsoft and Intel. It is 12.4 mm and weighs just under 1kg. The glass display has an optional Ultra (UHD) 4K display. This device will be available for purchase in the beginning of March.

Eric Wilfrid, director of product, Skype for Business, Microsoft, states:

“Microsoft and HP engineers worked closely on the development of the EliteBook Folio for more than a year to deliver the best Skype for Business experience. The result is a device that offers a premium collaboration experience when speaking or listening to calls using Skype for Business.”

Microsoft in its official blog states:

“People are using their notebooks to connect with colleagues, friends and family more than ever before. HP and Microsoft’s Skype for Business team worked closely on the development of the EliteBook Folio to create the first notebook purpose-built for collaboration.”

HP has also partnered with Bang & Olufsen acoustical engineers in order to custom-tune the audio for a perfect sound experience for personal as well as business use.

Microsoft states:

“The quality of components and emphasis on surrounding engineering of the notebook helped achieve a 40 percent increase in loudness compared to previous HP devices so the Folio can be used as a phone.”

The four speakers which are available on the device are optimized from sound to size. They provide an excellent experience while listening to music or watching videos.

Microsoft states:

“Juggling between projects to end or mute a call is no longer an issue with new collaboration keys on the keyboard to more easily manage calls, and a calendar key allows users to quickly jump to a Skype for Business calendar rather than navigating from the desktop.”

The EliteBook Folio comes with "diamond-cut super fine and sleek edges and a CNC aluminum body to deliver a design that provides strength and durability." CNC aluminum is light, flexible and durable.

HP has worked with Microsoft and Intel for developing EliteBook Folio, tuning device drives and designing optimized performance and battery life, which would enhance the device’s productivity and performance. This device comes with Windows 10 Pro, with an optional 6th generation Intel Core M vPro processor, which has been optimized for high performance and efficiency. "This gives the EliteBook Folio the optimal blend of beauty, power, fanless operation and up to 10 hours of battery life."

The new EliteBook Folio is more manageable with better security compared to previous generations. The device comes with HP Client Security Software Suite, certified TPM, enhanced BIOS-level protection with HP Sure Start with Dynamic Protection, and an optional hardened fingerprint reader.

For additional manageable support, this device comes with tools like HP Touchpoint Manager, HP Image Assistant and an optional Intel Core vPro processor allowing IT to remotely manage the device over wired as well as wireless networks. The HP Touchpoint Manager also comes with software inventory deployment, along with patch management, and support for BYOD devices. This allows the admin to secure as well as optimize devices from a single dashboard.

The all new EliteBook Folio will be available in March, at $999.
