iPhone 13 Is Arriving Next Week, Sept 14

Apple's highest-profile event of the year is happening Sept. 14, with the launch of the iPhone 13 and other highly-anticipated products.

Apple's next event, during which it will launch the iPhone 13, is happening Sept. 14, the firm confirmed Tuesday.

The Cupertino company has sent out invitations for the product launch September 14 event at the company headquarters in California, where it will unveil new iPhones along with other highly-anticipated products. The event starts at 10 am PT (i.e 10:30 pm IST) and will be streamed online.

Well, Apple traditionally takes the wraps off its latest iPhone during an annual fall event at its Cupertino headquarters. Because of the ongoing pandemic, the big event will once again be held virtually.

Apple is expected to announce four new iPhone 13 models this year — the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. The anticipated iPhone 13 is expected to include camera improvements, faster display refresh rates, and might bring satellite communications technology as well.

The new cameras should make for even better low-light shots and bring autofocus to the iPhone’s ultra-wide-angle lens. Those changes however would only come to the iPhone 13 Pro models, and the standard iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini may not get the new lenses.

The new lineup is expected to look the same as the iPhone 12 but could feature a smaller notch, and high-refresh-rate displays on the “Pro” models. Users can also expect reverse wireless charging and bigger batteries.

According to a report from Bloomberg, the new iPhone might bring satellite capabilities - focused on emergency situations, enabling users to send texts to first responders and report crashes in areas without cellular coverage. Also, the cameras will get a new video Portrait mode that will enable users to add bokeh effects to their clips that blur the background while keeping the subject, in focus.

With refresh 120 times per second, the new iPhone will make even smoother scrolling and gaming. Also, the screens could vary their refresh rates to cut down on any potential impact on battery life. You can also expect always-on displays that show information such as your latest notifications and the time on the lock screen in white against a black background.

Alongside the new iPhones, the company will announce the availability of its latest operating system iOS 15, iOS that powers the iPhone, as well as iPadOS 15, which powers the company’s iPad products. These newest versions of the operating systems will bring improvements to Maps, the ability to share and watch videos together over FaceTime, and a new option to load your driver’s license into Apple Wallet, the basis on your location.

Apple is also likely to debut its next-generation Apple Watch, the Apple Watch Series 7, and a new pair of AirPods. Series 7 is said to have larger displays and more angular designs. AirPods could bring some of the features found on the AirPods Pro, like spatial audio, to the entry-level models.
