Microsoft : A $1 Trillion Company

Microsoft briefly becomes a $1 trillion company following strong fiscal Q3 earnings.

Recently, Microsoft became the third US company to cross a market cap of $1 trillion. The company passed the milestone recently after a jump in stock value following strong fiscal Q3 earnings. Microsoft joins Apple and Amazon in hitting the $1 trillion valuation ahead of rival Google.
Microsoft a $1 trillion company
Microsoft’s stock climbed as much as 4.5 percent in after-hours trading, Wednesday, pushing the company’s market cap over the $1 trillion mark. Later in the afternoon, stock value declined just below that landmark level. Though the fluctuations between a $998 billion company and a $1 trillion company do not matter much in the long run, the market cap milestone is another financial feather in the cap of Microsoft.
According to experts in the matter, Microsoft’s stock has been pushed up because of its cloud growth. The tech giant has been pushing its cloud products in recent years, and the company is trying to catch up to Amazon’s AWS dominance. Currently, Microsoft's Azure is second behind Amazon for cloud services, and ahead of Google’s own offerings.
