Microsoft Announces General Availability Of Power BI For Office 365

Power BI for Office 365 is now generally available for everyone with the new add-on service.

After launching as a preview version in the summer of 2013, Microsoft has announced that the Power BI for Office 365 is now generally available for all the Office 365 users.

The program is now available for all the users who want to extract data from the Excel, Windows Azure, and other sources, in addition to the build visualizations, and to analyze their decisions about their businesses. For the Excel users, Power BI provides a new and a better way to collect, examine, and display the massive amounts of data, including viewing the spreadsheet data as 3D maps.

The add-on feature of the Power BI is its Q&A tool. It allows you to use the natural language queries to build charts and graphs. It asks a question about your data in a natural language and gets it back in an intelligent visualization.

As a part of Office 365, Power BI is only available through a subscription and is only available as an add-on to the Office 365 Enterprise customers. Pricing for the Power BI comes in three tiers. The cheapest is the $33 a month as an add-on for the Office 365; as a standalone service it costs $40 a month, and users who have Office 365 ProPlus can add Power BI for an extra $52 a month.
