Microsoft is Acquiring Sunrise calendar app

According to TechCrunch, the software giant Microsoft has acquired the popular calendar app Sunrise for more than $100 million.

Sunrise’s apps are known for their beautiful design and powerful feature set. They have a suite of calendar products for mobile and desktop users that connects with and consolidates calendars from different providers. The app also allow users to access their calendars from Google, iCloud, and Microsoft Exchange, as well as connecting to a wide range of other third-party apps.

Microsoft will use some of its startup's technology for its own future products and keep Sunrise apps alive as stand-alone product. Microsoft's purchase of Sunrise follows to become a part of its most recent launch of the new Microsoft Outlook app, a re-branded version of email app Acompli, which Microsoft acquired for $200 million in December.

Sunrise is currently available for iPhone, iPad, Android devices, and on the Mac App Store, along with a web version.
