Microsoft Launches Middle East Cloud Regions

Microsoft has launched the first cloud datacenter regions in the Middle East, UAE. Azure and Office 365 generally available.

Microsoft has announced the general availability of Azure and Office 365 from company's first cloud datacenter regions in the Middle East, located in the UAE. While Dynamics 365 and Power Platform will be available from the cloud regions in UAE by the end of 2019.

The company said that with the opening of the new cloud regions in Abu Dhabi and Dubai now the Microsoft will deliver cloud services directly from datacenter locations in UAE.
The company said that the International Data Corporation (IDC) has predicted that cloud services would bring over half a million jobs to the Middle East. That includes the potential of over 55,000 new jobs in UAE, in between 2017 and 2022.
Microsoft also said that it continues to help bridge the skills gap amongst the IT community for cloud services. Cloud Society, a Middle East and Africa focused program, the company claims, has already trained more than 150,000 IT professionals in MEA.
