The 15-inch variant begins at $1,299 for the AMD configuration and $1,799 for the Intel configuration. It is offered in Matte Black and Platinum colours with metal palm rest.

These latest laptops run Windows 10 Home and come in a 13.5- and a 15-inch screen size. Here, the 13.5-inch size has a 10 point multi-touch enabled PixelSense display with 2256x1,504 pixels resolution, 201 ppi pixel density, and 3:2 aspect ratio. And, the 15-inch variants come with 2496x1,664 pixels resolution with the same pixel density and aspect ratio.

This series comes with up to 32GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage. The company is promising up to 19 hours and up to 17.5 hours of battery life on the 13.5-inch AMD model and on the 15-inch version respectfully. The Intel-powered Laptop 4 is rated up to 17 hours of battery life for 13.5-inch, while the larger 15-inch model can stay on uptp 16.5 hours. Intel variants also pack Intel’s latest Iris Xe graphics, which means games like Overwatch will be playable at 1080p ultra.

The new series maintains the same design that of the Surface Laptop 3. You can choose between the classic platinum Surface style and a new ice blue color on the 13.5-inch models, both of which are Alcantara fabric. Matte black and sandstone are also available in metal options.  While the larger 15-inch versions are strictly platinum and matte black in metal and no Alcantara fabric.

Interestingly, the tech giant is still not budging on Thunderbolt 3 or 4 and rather is staying with its Surface Connect for docking or Type-C. There are also no options for 4G or 5G or any other changes to the display, size, bezels, or ports. However, the AMD models are getting Wi-Fi 6 and LPDDR4x RAM this time.

Surface Laptop 4 models come with a 720p HD webcam with Windows Hello face authentication. The device packs dual far-field studio mics and Omnisonic speakers with Dolby Atmos. The 13.5-inch variant measures 308x223x14.5mm while the one with 15-inch model measures 339.5x244x14.7mm.

Microsoft is also offering free Surface Earbuds ($199.99 value) to customers on buying a new Surface Laptop 4, for a limited time.

Alongside the Surface Laptop 4 announcement, Microsoft has also rolled out an array of new connected-office accessories (i.e. headphones, speakers, webcam), Surface Headphones 2+, and a broader Surface Duo availability.
