Most of you will be glad to know that Apple has tweaked its operating system, and now the new update is compatible with older devices too. If you are already using iOS 8 on your device then you can easily update to iOS 9.

This update is available in 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6 and of course the latest 6s devices which will be available in the market from September 25.

In case of iPod touch the update will work on the 5th and 6th generation devices.

In case of iPad users, you need to either have iPad mini or iPad 2.

Most of you reading this article must be thinking whether updating is the correct decision or not. It is always better to update your device, but not instantly. It is always recommended that you wait a few weeks before updating your device, so that any initial bugs, it can be fixed.

In the mean time, your iPhone and iPad will work perfectly, and you will not be missing on any important notifications.

Clear your phone before update

It is recommended that you do a bit of spring cleaning, before you update your device.

Firstly, remove any unwanted pictures and videos, along with unused apps. This will help in cleaning up the storage space, and making your device less cluttered.

Secondly, make sure that you have a back up. You can store your documents on iTunes or iCloud.

Updating the device is the easiest part, however it might take some time, depending on your internet connection.

While updating, make sure that your device is connected to the charger. Click on the Setting, there you will get an option General, click on it. Another option will open in front of you known as software update, click on, and your update will start.

This year Apple has reduced the size of its update from 4.58GB to 1.3GB. This is done keeping in mind the problem faced by a large number of people, who didn’t have enough storage space.
