Skype 2.5 Released For Modern Windows

Skype version 2.5 for modern Windows has been released recently. According to the Skype blog, the latest version will focus on the improvements related to your contacts and sound experience.

Here are the changes included in this version: 

  1. Add New Contacts: A new contact people page has been added in this version through which you can add someone by just selecting the icon below, type in a name, email address, Microsoft account or SkypeID, one can also add people directly from search or by swiping the command bar.
  2. Filter Contacts: With this feature, you can filter and display only the online users now. You can configure the app to show only your online friends.
  3. Mute IM Sounds: Lastly, Skype for Windows 8 and 8.1 now comes with options to mute the sounds, completely. If you do not want to be disturbed with the chat notification sound of IM, it is suggested that this feature should be enabled.

You can download the new Skype version manually to get all the improvements on your computer. If you are running the Windows 8.1, the app will be updated automatically in case you haven’t changed the default OS configuration.
