Skype merges with now available in six countries

Microsoft has announced that Skype is available for all customers in North America, reports CNet. Earlier Microsoft rolled out the preview version of its VoIP service for users in the UK.

According to Dawn Martynuik, Group Product Manager,, "Email is an important and personal tool for most people, but there are moments when you want to be able to speak live or chat face-to-face."

Existing users can use Skype without creating any new account. A one-time download of a plug-in for your browser is required to make an auto-install of Skype in your inbox. Presently, the recent versions of Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox are supported. You will then be encouraged to pair your Skype account with your Outlook so you can make voice and video calls from your email inbox. This way, you will be able to add all of your Skype contacts to your contacts list for easy access. 

For users who do not exist in any of the countries mentioned  above, Microsoft has said that it is “still working hard” to ensure that it is available worldwide “in the near future”.
