SQL Change Automation 4.0 Released

SQL Change Automation 4.0 allows you to develop database changes in either Visual Studio or Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

Recently, Redgate released its SQL Change Automation 4.0 tool. This extends the database change management automation tool to the free Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). You can now choose whether to work in Microsoft Visual Studio or SSMS.

Till now, SQL Change Automation Development was available only as an extension for Microsoft Visual Studio.

SQL Change Automation enables developers to develop and version database code using a migrations-first approach. It allows you to control precisely and fine-tune the exact series of commands that are executed in a database deployment while keeping state-based features available to support merging branches and comparisons between source control and databases.

With, 4.0, you can now develop database changes in either Visual Studio or Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and can collaborate on a SQL Change Automation development project in both IDEs.
