Unique Mobile Subscribers Worldwide Reaches Five Billion

The number of unique mobile subscribers worldwide has hit five billion.

There are 7.5 billion people in this world and this number is expected to reach close to 10 billion by 2050. India is expected to become the number-one country by population by 2020. 

 

Out of 7.5 billion people, five billion people now have access to a mobile.

According to GSMA Intelligence (see infographic below), the number of unique mobile subscribers worldwide hit the 5 billion mark on June 15, 2017. The number of total mobile users has reached over 8 billion.
