VS 2019 Brings Improvements ToThe C++ Inliner

VS 2019 versions 16.3 and 16.4 include C++ inliner improvements.

Recently, Microsoft announced that VS 2019 versions 16.3 and 16.4 include improvements to the C++ inliner. The highlight is the ability to inline some routines after they have been optimized, referred to as the "Zipliner."

The company said that depending on the application, developers may see some minor code quality improvements and/or major build-time (compiler throughput) gains.

According to the company, those modules that make heavy use of Eigen may see a notable throughput improvement. The optimizer takes up to 30-50% less time for such repros.
