Windows Terminal Now Available At Windows Store

The early preview release of Windows Terminal is available for download through the Windows Store.

Microsoft's new command line app for Windows, Windows Terminal, unveiled at Build earlier this year, is now available via an easy installer through the Windows Store. Till now developers had to compile and use the Windows Terminal from the code available on GitHub.

The Windows Terminal is described as a new, much more efficient, powerful, and productive terminal application for users of command-line tools and shells like Command Prompt, PowerShell, and WSL.

The highlights of Windows Terminal includes multiple tabs, Unicode and UTF-8 character support, a GPU accelerated text rendering engine alongside custom themes, styles, and configurations.

The company also clarified that this is a very early preview release and includes some usability issues like the lack of support for assistive technology. But most of the internal work to support assistive technology is complete and it will support assistive technology very soon.
