In your table on your ID col why not used an Identity Specification, so every new record is ID + 1?

How are you going to get that ID...what "where" clause can you pass through from your front end..

E.G

SELECT ID
FROM tbl
WHERE StaffName = 'Sathish'

You have a table with 1000 + empID ..how are you going to pick out the right one you want to display?

How are you creating your new record?

So, to query your sql server and pass it back through to the text/label you need to be able to use some type of where statement..

Whether the person has a login username thats stored, or something like that to be able to query.

Or if you use the create employee page and then pass it through a querystring..

Hi Satya Priya,
I Had one more problem,,i used the above code in my application, as autogenerated() function is there in the page load method  when i refresh the page manully(without Submitting),then also Id Automatically Incrementing,How can i overcome this problem?,,,

and iam using server side validations in Submit Button,,,so when im saving the values its checking for validations after values are saved..if i refresh the page then automatically Id Goes on Incrementing  as that method is in page load,,this is my actual problem
