ASP.NET LDAP AD DMZ

Question

Hi

I have just recieved this assignment and I don't know how to proceed. I am very new to ASP.NET.

I have this website located in a DMZ. On the site employees can enter their username and password. My job is to verify the logon credentials agains our AD which is located outside the DMZ. My boss said that I should probably use something called "LDAP" which i don't know what is. Another of my coworkers is already in the process of installing 2 servers, one on each side of the DMZ, that I am supposed to use to connect to the AD.

Does anyone have an "For Dummies" help guide for me or perhaps some coding examples that i can lean on.
