Kolkata Chapter Meet June 26, 2016: Official Recap

The C# Corner Kolkata Chapter recently hosted an event on June 26, 2016: “Deep Dive In Technology with Visual Studio” at Nasscom Startup Warehouse, Kolkata. We want to share with you some of the event highlights.

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the tremendous speakers and attendees who came to offer their support.

The huge energetic crowd that converged at the venue beginning at 9:00 AM included developers and entrepreneurs. The event focused on Angular JS, C#, Scrum, etc.

Here is the list of topics and speakers. All of the speakers delivered even more than what they promised.

TFS - Implementation ofScrumNarottam Das11:00 AM - 12:00 AM

The event was kicked off with the first session by Abhishek Singh on "Working with AngularJS." He explained all the directives that AngularJS supports and also went ahead to dive deep inside how AngularJS can be used to enhance your single page web applications. The session was interesting as the speaker showed some of the interesting built-in services that AngularJS provides us. For instance, $locationProvider, $route are interesting services that are already there withthe AngularJS framework and which can easily help you in routing and creating HTML 5-like URLs. Abhishek, even though speaking for the first time, showed a lot of code and showed how he created an entire Voting application for this session only.

Then, a session on "TFS - Implementation of Scrum" was conducted by Narottam Das, a process person with experience in a wide range of technology, who provided some interesting artifacts on Scrum methodology. Narottam has been a consultant in ERP/Business Solutions for over 13 years. He showed an enhanced demonstration on how an organization dealing with products or services can easily follow Scrum and Agile and what are the things that they should keep in mind while implementing such a system on their premises.

The session became more interesting when he showed how easy it is to use TFS online to implement Scrum.

After that, I, being an experienced speaker, did something which I don't do often. I did a short session on the internals of C# and showed the attendees how you can understand what is happening under the hood. There were instances in the demo where attendees could not even identify what the output of a single line would be,  and I explained how things are actually laid out by the compiler. The session was interesting and helped people to understand and write better code in the future. I am a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP), Code Project MVP, C# Corner MVP, and have six yrs of experience in .NET.

Once again, we would like to thank all of the attendees present at the C# Corner Kolkata Chapter and all of the speakers for making the event a great success. I hope for even more attendees in the future.

We have also shared certificates and prizes. We have created an album with all the pictures here.
