library app in android studio

Question

Hi,I am new to android applications.I have knowledge about java.Now i am going to build a library app as my project.It includes some operations like insertion,deletion etc. on databases.As i am new to android programming i have no knowledge about android databases.I had worked with OracleXE and JDBC.Now my question is,can i connect OracleXE to JDBC on android studio?.If yes,then plz tell me how and what are all the requirements for that?.If no,any alternative for that.Also post any links that will be useful for me to refer.Thanks in advance.
