Job Description

As an Application Engineering Manager within the HR Engineering team at Google, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of application engineers to develop and maintain critical technical solutions for Google's HR operations. The Core team is responsible for building and maintaining the foundational components that power Google's flagship products. As an Application Engineering Manager, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, develop scalable technical solutions, and ensure the smooth operation of HR business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine requirements and dependencies, and work closely with Google Software Engineering teams to implement technical solutions that scale HR business operations effectively.
  • Design and develop code to address challenges in people operations, implementing and supporting scalable integrations where necessary.
  • Manage development, configuration, testing, and deployment environments for developers, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Coordinate with other engineering teams, software vendors, and system integrators to ensure timely delivery of projects and initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience with programming in APEX, Java, Python, Go, Web Services (e.g., RESTful, SOAP), and CI/CD build tools.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing projects.
  • 2 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience with customer relationship management (CRM) customization and development.
  • Experience with designing data models for business requirements.
  • Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages.
  • Experience with version control systems for development, writing unit tests, integration tests, and user interface tests.
  • Experience with Apex typographic conventions, transactions, and limits.
  • Experience integrating CRM tools with external systems and applications.
