Siemens Advanta is seeking a DevOps Engineer with expertise in Linux and Docker technologies to join our vibrant team in Bangalore, India. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in automating the application lifecycle, optimizing deployment processes, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our containerized applications.

Responsibilities

• Understand existing applications, configurations, and build strategies, and collaborate with software development teams to streamline processes.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable Docker containers, implementing best practices for containerization.
• Develop automated processes for deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Docker into the development and deployment pipeline.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Docker containers and orchestration, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
• Continuously improve containerization strategies for enhanced efficiency and security.
• Document containerization processes and maintain version control to ensure transparency and reproducibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Linux-based infrastructure, preferably with RedHat systems.
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar role, with expertise in Docker/Podman and cloud deployment technologies.
• Proficiency in Python programming; familiarity with GoLang and Ruby is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with Java/Spring Boot is a plus.
• Experience with various open-source technologies and cloud services.
• Strong understanding of DevOps and Agile methodologies.
• Openness to learning new technologies and tools.
• Knowledge of JIRA administration is desirable.
• Proficiency in configuration and build tools like Bazel, Jenkins, etc.
• Familiarity with repository management tools like Git, Bit Bucket, etc.
• Excellent debugging skills and strategies.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of eclipse IDE and experience in developing add-ons/plugins on the eclipse Platform.
• Prior experience in java-based build systems and coverage tools like JaCoCo.
• Familiarity with UI automation tools like QF-Test.
• Knowledge of 93K Semiconductor test platforms.

Additional Information

This is an individual contributor role based in Bangalore, India. Occasional travel to other locations within India and internationally may be required.
