Introduction
In this today article you will learn about how to install the TCP Port Sharing and Web Server (IIS) under Application Server in Windows Server 2012.
TCP can be used by applications to communicate over the Public and Private Network.
The TCP/IP protocol differentiates the connections between Multiple Network Applications that run on the same computer using the port that contains a 16 digit number.
Step 1
First of all login to your Windows Server 2012 as an Administrator, after signing in the Server Manager will be opened automatically, if it doesn't open then you must open it manually.
Now in the Server Manager click on the Manage Button to open the "Add Roles and Features" to add the new feature.
Step 2
Now a new window will be opened in which a few instructions are given, click on "Next".
Step 3
Now you will be prompted for "Installation type" from which you must select the first option and then click on "Next".
Step 4
Now you must select the server from the Server Pool. Since I had only one server in the Server Pool, my server is selected by default.
After selecting the server click on "Next".
Step 5
Now a List of Rolls will appear in front of you, in this list you will find an option named as "Application Server". Check this option and then click on "Next".
Now a list of Features will be available for selection, you can select any feature you want to install and then click on "Next" or simply click on "Next" without selecting any feature.
Step 6
The next page will give information about the Application Server. After reading this information click on the "Next" button.
Now Role Services associated with the Application Server are ready to be checked. Here click on "TCP Port Sharing and Web Server (IIS)," and then click on "Next".
Step 7
Now a confirmation page will be available that will show the Features to be Installed. Here you can also provide the permission for the server to be restarted by clicking on the CheckBox present at the top of the confirmation page.
Now you can click on the "Install" button and your installation will begin.
