It’s Final! Metro Style apps changed to Windows Store apps

Posted by Mahesh Chand Blogs | Windows Store Apps Sep 08, 2012
It looks like finally MSDN documentation is updated and the “Metro Style” term has changed to “Windows Store”.
When I wrote blog, Metro Style app renamed as Windows Store app, there was no official statement from Microsoft or from the Visual Studio team.

I guess somebody at Microsoft read my blog Windows Store app vs Windows 8 app. Lol! Here is another blog by Ibrahim on the same topic.

Visual Studio 2012 templates were calling it Windows Store app but MSDN still had it Metro.

"Term Metro Style app has been renamed to Windows Store app."

Finally, looks like MSDN team got around and fix it. Check this series of articles. The breadcrumb still says Metro style apps but the article contents and title has updated to "Window Store apps".

We had already changed our category name from Metro Style app to Windows Store app on C# Corner but some articles from Microsoft experts were calling it Windows 8 apps.
