Job Description
The State of New York Unified Court System is looking for a great software engineer to work on systems that have a positive impact on the lives of citizens and the efficiency of court operations. You should love finding simple solutions to big problems, and care not only about the efficiency and maintainability of software, but the way it helps other teams do their jobs.
 
As a key member of a small and versatile team you will be involved in a great variety of support and design engineering challenges. You will design, test, deploy and maintain software solutions both large and small.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Write client and server-side code for web-based applications.
  • Create fast, easy-to-use, state of the art solutions
  • Support diverse clients from high powered desktop computers to mobile devices.
  • Data extraction, transformation and load applications.
  • Integrate back-end systems into desktop office applications.
  • Conversion of legacy database applications and back-office systems.
  • Coordinate with other project teams for integration into their products.
  • Foster a culture of being agile, innovative, team-oriented and customer-focused.
  • Initiate, promote and implement best practices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Extensive experience with web infrastructure, distributed systems, and databases.
  • Net Framework 2.0 - 4.x, ASP.Net, IIS 6-7.5, development with .NET languages C# & VB.Net, WCF, and data access technologies.
  • SOAP, REST, XML, AJAX, JavaScript
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
PLUSES
  • MCSD, MCAD, or other applicable advanced certification
  • Experience in desktop/mobile and browser responsive design
  • Regulatory/Government Experience
  • Windows OS scripting and familiarity with PowerShell
  • MS Office 365 Client Object Model, SharePoint Development
  • Experience with Oracle and PL/SQL
SALARY + BENEFITS
  • Base Salary: $73,730
  • 20 days of paid vacation and one additional vacation day for each year of completed service, to a maximum 27 days annually.
  • 12 holidays during the first year of service.
  • 13 days of paid annual sick leave, accrued.
