The Supreme Court of the Appellate Division, Fourth Judicial Department hears appeals from the state's trial courts located in the 22 Central and Western New York counties assigned to the Fifth, Seventh, and Eighth Judicial Districts. Along with the operations of the Clerk's Office and Court the Appellate Division, Fourth Department also includes the auxiliary agencies and programs of the Assigned Counsel Program, Attorneys for Children Program, Attorney Grievance Committees, Court Examiners, Independent Judicial Election Qualification Committee, Law Library, and Mental Hygiene Legal Service.
