Google will pay Mozilla $1 Billion to Keep Google Search

Mozilla struck gold when they got an almost $1 Billion deal with Google to keep Google as their default search for the Firefox browser. The report published Google resigns firefox search royalty deal/ says that this will almost triple the revenue Mozilla had last year.

In a deal signed by Google and Mozilla, Google will pay close to $300 million each year for next 3 years to Mozilla to keep Google search as the default Firefox browser search. Keep in mind, Google is already competing with Firefox and recently Google Chrome has taken a lead over Firefox in number of browser users.
