Choose Another Operating System While Using Windows 8

Introduction

 
This article explains how to choose another operating system while using Windows 8. In your computer system, you can install more than one operating system such as Windows 7 or Windows 8. In the Windows 7 operating system, you can install the Windows 8 OS with the help of VMware player. Vmware Player is the virtual machine running on Windows 7 that provides the Windows 8 Preview. I have dual booted with Windows 7, so I have to select Windows 7.
 
VMware Player supports Windows 8 as a guest OS. Many users want to multiboot or dual boot OSes on their computers. If you want to install both operating systems in your computer when you want to have enough disk space to install more than two operating systems. You can choose any one operating system when the computer is switched on and after logs on to one of the operating systems.
 
You can again restart the system to switch and use another installed version of Windows. You can choose the other operating system with the help of the Advanced Startup Option. You can type Advanced Startup in the search box under the settings and click on it. The window that appears will be shown; you click on the "Restart Now" button under the Advanced Startup and follow the steps. These are given below.
 

Steps for How to Choose Another operating system While using Windows 8

 
Step 1
 
You can move the cursor on the right-bottom and click on the search box and type in it what you want.

Step 2
 
You can type the "advanced startup" in the search box under the settings tab highlighted and now click and open the advanced startup option.

In the window that appears, you click on RESTART Button NOW, under the advanced startup.

Step 4
 
After clicking on the Restart Button, you can see many options like Continue, Turn Off Your PC, Troubleshoot, Use Another operating system. You click on "Use another operating system".

Step 5
 
In this step, you can see two operating systems Windows 8 and Windows 7. You can choose either one of both OSes if you have a dual-boot system. It is shown in the figure below. You can change the default OS by clicking on the "Change Default" option.
