How to Prevent Changing Mouse Pointers in Windows 8

Introduction

 
In this article, we are explaining how to "Prevent Changing Mouse Pointers" in Windows 8. If you click on the Enabled Button then you cannot change the Mouse icons. If you click on the Disabled Button then you can change the Mouse icons. If you click on the Enabled Button in the "Prevent Changing Mouse pointer" window, you will not see the "Change Mouse Pointers" option under Personalized and it is shown with the help of the figure below.
 
Windows 8 assists with the disabling of the changing of Mouse pointers. If you want to disable changing of Mouse pointers then you open the Local Group Policy Editor. You can enter the gpedit.msc in the search box and click on it. After opening the Local Group Policy Editor, you click on the User Configuration sub-category Administrative Templates sub-category Control Panel sub-category Personalized and right-click on the Prevent Changing Mouse Pointer under the Personalized.
 
A window will be opened; if you want to prevent the Mouse pointers from being changed then you click on the Enabled Button to disable the changing of the Mouse pointer. Once the Mouse Pointer is disabled from being changed then you can not change the Mouse icons. I do not want anyone to change my Mouse icons. So it is possible to disable the Mouse pointer from being changed in Windows 8. The whole process of disabling the Mouse pointers from changing is given below.
 
Before preventing the changing of the Mouse pointer, right-click on your Desktop and select the Personalized tab. In this tab, you will see the option "Change Mouse pointers".

Steps To Prevent Changing the Mouse Pointer in Windows 8

 
Step 1
 
Move the cursor on the right-bottom and select the search box and enter into the search box what you want.

In the search box, you enter the gpedit.msc under the application tab and click on the window that is shown.

In this step, I want to prevent changing the Theme file. Click on the User Configuration sub-category Administrative Template sub-category Control Panel sub-category Personalization and click on the "Prevent Changing Mouse Pointers".

In this step, if you click on the Enabled Button then you cannot change the Mouse Pointer or Mouse icons. When you click on the Disable Button then you can change the Mouse Pointer. After step 6 is complete right-click on your Desktop and select the Personalized tab. In this tab you do not see the option "Change Mouse pointers".
