Disable Start Screen and Charms Bar in Windows 8

Introduction

 
Microsoft has launched Windows 8, a new version of Windows that comes with many new features and many changes. Some of the new features are a Start Screen, Charms Bar, etc. In Windows 8, the Start Menu has been replaced by the Metro start screen. The Metro start screen is a collection of Metro applications by which we can easily access any application. But some users want to use Windows 8 the same way they did in the previous version of Windows such as Windows 7, Vista, XP, etc and don't want to use the latest features of Windows 8.
 
In this article, we explain how to disable the Charms Bar, Start Screen and Application Switching in Windows 8. To do that you have to use the third-party application "Skip Metro suit setting". Skip Metro suit set is a small application by which you can easily disable Charm Bar, Start Screen, Application Switching, etc. If you want to disable the Charm Bar without the help of a third-party application then you need to change the "Registry" setting in Windows 8.

How to disable the Charms Bar and Start Screen in Windows 8?

 
Step 1
 
Download "Skip Metro Suit setting" and run it's as Administrator.

In this step click on "Next" and follow the installation steps.

In this step go onto the Desktop screen and double-click on this icon or right-click and select open.

In this step "Uncheck" the item you want to disable and click on "Save Setting".
