To open the Control Panel we have many options in Windows 8. Here is one of the common ways to open the Control Panel and Windows Firewall Settings in Windows 8.

 

Here is the procedure to turn on or off the Windows Firewall in Windows 8.

 

Step 1

 

Go to the Start Screen, if you are on the Desktop screen by pressing the Win Key of Start button.

 

Step 2

 

Moving the mouse pointer to the lower right bottom corner of the screen. A charm is opened. Click on the Search option.

Type the Control Panel in the search box.

Click on the Control Panel from the left panel on the screen.

Click on the "System and Security" option from it.

Now, click on the Windows Firewall option from the right side.

Click on the Turn Windows Firewall on or off from the left side panel.

Now, select the radio button for both Private or Public network settings to Turn on or off the Windows Firewall according to the need.
