Changing User Profile to Remote or Local User

Introduction

In today's article you will came to learn how to make changes in the User Profile in Windows Server 2012.

You can make changes in the User Profile that currently exists for Windows Server, you can delete their profile, you can change their type from Roaming to Local or Vice Versa. For doing all this you need to use the procedure described below.

Step 1

First of all go to the Control Panel of your system. If you are using Windows Server 2012 or Windows 8 then go to the lower-left hand corner and right-click to go to the Control Panel.

Now your Control Panel will be opened, here you need to go to the System and Security option.

Step 2

Under the System you will see an option named as "System". Click on it to open it.

Now you need to go to the System's Properties; for that you need to first click on the "Advanced System Settings" that is present on the left hand side of the Control Panel.

Step 3

Now "System Property Window" will be opened, here you need to click on the "Advanced" Tab. Under the Advanced Tab three options will be available, one for Performance, the second for the User Profile and the third for the Startup and Recovery. You need to go to the second option, in other words "User Profile" then click on the "Settings" button under it.

Now the User Profile Window will be opened. Here first select the user on which you want to make the changes, now if you want to "delete" the profile of this user then simply click on the "Delete" button and then click "Ok".

Step 4

If you want to make this user a Local or Remote User then you need to click on the "Change Type" button.

Now you can make him Local or Roaming as you like.
