How to Disable Internet Explorer's Enhanced Security in Windows Server 2012

Introduction

In today's article you will learn how to disable the Internet Explorer Enhanced Security Configuration (IE ESC) in Windows Server 2012.

Step 1

First of all open your Internet Explorer to access any website. As you open your Internet Explorer you will see that it's showing "Your Internet Explorer Enhanced Security is Enabled".

Step 2

Now type the URL of the website you would like to open, for example I used "www.gmail.com". As you press the Enter button you will see that the site you want to open is disabled by the Enhanced Security and it's asking to Add this URL.

After you click on the "Add" button a new window will be opened for providing the URL you want to access and again click on the "Add" button.

Now it's added to the Zone and you can access this.

Now you can open the Website that you had entered in the Zone.

I am sure you will be frustrated again and again to give the permission to each and every site. If you want to bypass this process and want to save time then you need to disable Enhanced Security. For that use the following procedure.

Step 3

Close your Internet Explorer and open the Server Manager from the Task Bar.

Step 4

Now in the Server Manager go to the Local Server given in the left hand side and open it.

As you open the Local Server you will see that Internet Explorer Enhanced Security is ON.

To set Enhanced Security Off click on it to open it. And change all the options from On to Off and then click on the "OK" Button.

Step 6

Now click on the "Refresh" button provided at the upper-right of the Server Manager.

Now close your Server Manager and open the Internet Explorer, now you will see that it's showing the Enhanced Security is Off.

Now type any URL you want to access and you will see that now it is not asking to add URLs to the Zone.
