Introduction
MongoDB is an open-source document database and the leading NoSQL database. MongoDB was developed by the company 10gen (now called MongoDB Inc) in October 2007. MongoDB has been used by many high-trafficked highly-scalable websites such as Craigslist, eBay, Foursquare and SourceForge.

No SQL databases such as Mongo are becoming popular since they have many advantages. There are only a few articles providing explanations of disadvantages of No SQL databases. There are however disadvantages of No SQL databases and I think the pendulum will eventually swing in the other direction sometime in the future. I think it would help for someone (experienced with both) to provide a good explanation of when a RDBMS is the better choice. I think it would help beginners especially to understand the considerations. I think it would also help people to understand the considerations before recommending that their employer use one or the other. To the extent that a No SQL database has maintenance disadvantages, it could be a mistake for an employee to recommend a No SQL database to their employer.
