Create A Blog Collection In Office 365 (SharePoint Online Site)

In this article, we will see how to create a blog in Office 365 SharePoint Online site. This type of site template is used to post new ideas, and observations for the team or the members. The users get to comment on the post. It looks like personal information sharing or posting thoughts and ideas.

  • Sign in to Office 365, using your global administrator account.

  • In Office 365 admincenter, chooseAdmin > SharePoint to go to the SharePoint admin center.

  • On theSite Collections tab, click New, followed by clicking Private Site Collection.

A new Site Collection pop up will come up. Provide all the required information into each appropriate section. The list sections are given below.

  • Title
    Type a name for your blog. Here, we enter – eg. Sumit_ Blog.

  • Website address
    To create a new site collection, select a domain name in the drop down list. Also, you can use sites or specify any managed path and type the URL name.

  • Template selection
    Select a language for the site collection and under the select a template, choose Collaboration template, which contains blog template.

  • Time zone
    Select your time zone from the drop-down list.

  • Administrator
    Enter the name of a person or the user who will be the site collection administrator for the blog. Also, you can clickCheck names or browse to find a person.

  • Server Resource Quota
    You can keep the default value of 300 for the blog or can enter the number of the size of the resources (MB), which we want to allocate to this site collection.

  • Finally, click OK to create the new site collection.

After taking some time, the new blog appears in the list of site collections.
