Create A Team Site Collection In Office 365 (SharePoint Online Site)

In this article, we will see how to create a team site collection in Office 365 SharePoint Online site. This type of site template is used to connect people. It's a good place to work together with each other.

  • Sign in to Office 365, using your global administrator account.

  • In Office 365 admincenter, chooseAdmin > SharePoint to go to the SharePoint admin center.


  • On theSite Collections tab, click New, followed by clicking Private Site Collection.

New Site Collection pop up will come up, and provide all the required information into each appropriate sections. The list sections are given below.

  • Title
    Type a name for the team site, Here, we are entering – eg. Sumit_ Team site.

  • Web Site Address
    To create a new site collection, select a domain name in the drop down list. Also, you can use /sites/or specify any managed path and type the URL name for the team site.

  • Template Selection
    Select a language for the site collection and under the select a template, choose Collaboration template, which contains team site.

  • Time Zone
    Select your time zone from the drop-down list.

  • Administrator
    Enter the name of a person or the user, who will be the site collection administrator for the team site. Also, you can clickCheck names or browse to find a person.

  • Server Resource Quota
    You can keep the default value of 300 for the team site collection or can enter the number of size of resources (MB), which we want to allocate to this site collection.

  • Finally, click OK to create the new site collection.

After taking some time, the new team site collection appears in the list of site collections.
