  It is not working for the IList<ISubStuff> substuff {get; set}. Throwing Error setting value to substuff on MainStuff.

    You can have a base class implement ISubStuff, mark that particular property as abstract, and have each individual class override this property and provide it's own concrete implementation in the [JsonConverter] attribute.
