Introduction

In this article I describe how to create a Windows Store App for storing data in a file in roaming folder using JavaScript. User data in an app can be stored as files. There are three locations available for storing files; they are:

  1. Windows.Storage.ApplicationData.current.localFolder
  2. Windows.Storage.ApplicationData.current.roamingFolder
  3. Windows.Storage.ApplicationData.current.temporaryFolder.

To start the creation of the app, add one JavaScript page by right-clicking on the js folder in the Solution Explorer and select Add > new item > JavaScript Page and then give an appropriate name. In the same way, add one HTML page to your project.
