How To Record Your Screen

To begin recording using the Xbox game bar, you must follow the instructions below to proceed.

Step 1. Open the App or Game that you want to record.

Note. Remember that this tool can not be used to record the desktop or some other programs like a file manager. One of the main disadvantages of using this tool is that, the recording gets automatically stopped when you minimize your game or app.

Step 2. Press the "Windows + G" key to open the "Game Bar" and the Game bar will appear on the screen with various tools like capture, audio, and performance.

Step 3. Now, click on the "Start Recording" button. (Alternatively, the user can also start the recording by pressing the "Windows + Alt + R" key).

Step 4. After recording your app or game screen, the user can stop the recording by following any two steps-

1. To stop the recording, you can just click on the "Stop" button in the floating bar. (This floating bar displays your recording progress also).

2.  Alternatively, you can press the "Windows + G" key to bring the game bar again and then click the "Stop" button to stop recording under the "Capture" window.

How To View the Recordings

Have you recorded your game or app screen and want to see them? Don't worry, you have various options to watch your recordings in various locations. Follow the instructions below to proceed.

Method 1. Using Game bar

You can click on "Show all captures" to see the screenshots and recordings of the game or app screen that you have recorded.

Method 2. Using Xbox App

You can also view the recordings via the Windows 10 Xbox app. Follow the instructions below to proceed.

Step 1. From the Start Menu, open the Xbox App.

Step 2. Now, you will have to enter your credentials and sign in. If you are already signing in to the "Xbox" app, the "Xbox" app will appear on the screen.

Step 3. Now you can view your recordings, rename them, and also trim these recordings as well.

Method 3. Using the Video Folder

If you don't want to open or sign in to your Xbox Account, then you can view your recordings outside of the Xbox app. Follow the below instructions to proceed.
