Introduction
Microsoft announced that the Basic Public IP Address and the Legacy VPN Gateway SKU (Standard / VpnGw1-5) will be retired on September 30, 2025. However, Microsoft has extended the VPN Gateway SKU migration deadline until March 2026. Previously, Microsoft introduced a tool called βMigrate,β which has now been replaced by the new migration tool βMigrate to Standard IP,β launched in September. This tool will migrate both your VPN Gateway SKU and Public IP SKU. In this article, we will explore how to migrate a Basic Public IP address associated with a VPN Gateway.
