Thanks for comments and suggestions. coming from C++ background where everything was tedious and being not aware of other things like flash or HTML5? , WPF was really refreshingly new for me and liked it a lot.

Good job. You obviously spent time studying how Minesweeper works. I hope many developers learn from this sample. One suggestion is to not show the number "0"; I guess it would be better if instead a different color is used for squares that have been cleared.
