Requirement Module in Quality Center

The Requirement module is used to store all the requirements related to a testing project.

• IT can describe in details what needs to be tested in your application and provide the test team with the foundation on which the entire testing process is based

• Requirements are specified in the Quality Center by creating a requirements tree

• A Requirements tree is a graphical representation of requirements specifications

• Requirement specifications can be grouped, sorted and monitored in the requirements pane

• Requirements can also be linked to Tests created in a Test Plan Module and Defects in a defect module

• Later, after logging defects, you can also link the requirements to defects

• In this way we can keep track of your testing needs at all stages of the testing process

• If the testing requirement changes we can immediately identify which tests and defects are affected, and who is responsible for them

Create Requirements

How to create the requirements:

• Open the Quality Center demo projects to display the requirement module. Click the requirement button on the sidebar. Choose view and select requirement tree to display the requirements.

• Click the new requirement button. The created new requirement dialog box opens.

• Click ok. The new requirement dialog box opens.

• Add the details to the requirement. type or select the following priority, products and click submit.

• Add a child requirement in the requirement tree.

Requirement Views

We can specify the requirements in the Quality Center using the requirements module, which can be opened by clicking the requirements button on the sidebar; it can display as requirement tree, requirement details, requirement grid or coverage analysis to provide traceability and aid the decision-making process.

Requirement Details

• It can enable the display of the requirements of the tests with which they are associated, which are traced and defects with which they are linked. It can enable calculation and analysis of requirements risks.

Requirement Grid

• It can enable the display of requirements in a flat non-hierarchical view. Each line in the grid displays a separate requirement.

Coverage Analysis

• It is a view enabling you to analyze the breakdown of child requirements according to test coverage status.
