In this article, we will list all the issues, which were fixed in the July 2017 CU. This month MSFT released two versions of it, one includes the fixes for LPs and others don’t include the fix for LPs. Now it is irrelevant what language pack you installed or what base language of the SharePoint. You just simply install both exes and it will take care of everything. Security updates are also part of the packages.

This CU includes all the previous CUs since SharePoint 2016 RTM. This CU also includes the Feature Pack 1.

This CU also has a security update, which means you do not need to apply security updates separately if you apply this cu.
Improvements, fixes and Security Updates
This CU brings SharePoint & Project Server fixes, Improvement and Security Updates; here is the list of fixes published by MSFT.
Project Server 2016
- Reliability and functionality issues when a SharePoint Server 2013 content farm is consuming a UPA service application from a SharePoint Server 2016 farm.
- A user cannot edit the summary tasks lock field in the Project Center while using Project Web App.
- You can't edit items in quick edit mode in a document library that has more than two pages of files when the Edit function (the link to edit items) is enabled. This issue occurs after you move to a different page of items.
- Sub projects may become normal projects sporadically in Project 2016.
This update contains the following improvements and fixes for SharePoint Server 2016,
- The administrative backup and restore of the Category and Group Settings don't work.
- After you upgrade a site from SharePoint Server 2013 to SharePoint Server 2016 (such as by using the mount-spcontentdatabase cmdlet), versioning is enabled for all document libraries even if they did not have this feature previously enabled.
- After you use the SharePoint Active Directory import option (AD import) for a User Profile service application, the Assistant property's value is incorrectly set to the Manager property's value.
- When you export eDiscovery search results, preserved attachments are not exported.
- You don't correctly escape quotation marks when a list item is exported from the Preservation Hold list.
