Those of us that actually lived while using things like that know that there is much more to the history of the internet and communications. First note that even in the 1980s files could be sent using serial communications. Email existed in the 1980s; I used email in the 1980s using IBM Profs. Also note that Compuserve was in use in the 1980s; I used it then. The GIF format was developed by Compuserve in 1987 and I was one of the early users of it. AOL for DOS was launched in 1991 and AOL was extremely popular before IE existed. Very critical to this history is Netscape; it was the first company to bring the internet to the world. I am very interested in knowing the history of the server side of things. At one time, nearly all servers used Netscape software. Note that SSL was developed by Netscape. Another organization extremely critical to the history is the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) that was founded in 1994. IE implements the internet but W3C creates the internet (the standard at least).

IE 9.0 will be the future browser in market.It will create a revolution.I think it will rock and rule the market for a long time.Really looking forward to see your next article on it.Thanx destin to give an over view of the voyage of internet explorer. Really looking forward to have IE 9.0 in my desktop and enloy the maximum advantage on browsing.

Very good article. Got clear idea about how internet explorer gets in to this stage. I hope IE 9.0 will be the future browser. Waiting to see more details on IE 9.0
