An update about Silverlight. Now it is time to keep Silverlight out of the box. As Silverlight is nearing the end of life, so the companies that still depend on it should quickly migrate to a newer technology platform.

Arvind, you have a good perspective of Silverlight but eventually Silverlight will die. As per I know and read, Microsoft has no plans to continue Silverlight after Version 5. It's not that Microsoft does not want to support. SL wasn't use widely in major companies and it had very less adoption among enterprises. Small companies are using it. Then HTML 5 came along and now Metro style. These two new and exciting technologies will definitely kill Silverlight. Here is one blog I wrote a while ago: http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/Blogs/8124/html-5-brings-slow-death-to-silverlight-and-flash.aspx

Silverlight is dead ! Just look at the blogs of the so called Silverlight evangelists... they are all quiet, and have been for quite some time. Microsoft is killing it off Silverlight.

Nice to see a positive post about Silverlight for once. Still, you need to speak about the drawbacks when you speak of Silverlight. Especially the fact that Silverlight is not "metro compatible", and will suffer of the "no plugin in web browser" war.
