I was reading SharePoing 2010 documentation and they are depecating Stsadm command-line tool from SharePoint 2010. Even though it is there for backward compatibility purposes but I recommend you start thinking PowerShell. Eventually it will be gone.
The Stsadm command-line tool will be superseded by Windows PowerShell 2.0.
The Stsadm command-line tool is included to support compatibility with previous product versions. You should use Windows PowerShell 2.0 when performing command-line administrative tasks.
