Microsoft Just Don’t Get It

Sometimes I pity Microsoft Managers and Leaders who think they can buy developers. They just don't get it. Do they?

It doesn't surprise me; Microsoft is giving away cash to build Windows 8 apps. Earlier this March, Microsoft announced $100 per app Cash to publish apps on Windows Store. Haven't they learned from Bing Rewards? How far did that go?

Alright, let's think for a moment. Who can Microsoft lure with $100? Not me. My one hour is worth more than $100. Sure they can attract some students but is this you really want? Can students really build those cutting-edge high-performance scalable apps? Seriously!

Microsoft needs to learn how to win developer's hearts, not their pockets. Most of the developers, they are developers because they are not here to make money. They are here to write code. They are here because they believe in something.

How you win hearts? You win hearts by being honest. Have integrity and build a system on basis of principles. Give developers what they like. Give them the Start Button in Windows 8.
