Not Able to Open Doucments in SharePoint Library

You can try activating the site collection feature "Open Documents in Client Applications by Default" to open documents your machine.This isn't enabled by default on  SharePoint 2013 

 

Steps:

 

1. Navigate to Settings
2. Click on Site collection Features
3. Browse through it and activate "Open Documents in Client Applications by Default" feature.
