You can try activating the site collection feature "Open Documents in Client Applications by Default" to open documents your machine.This isn't enabled by default on SharePoint 2013
Steps:
- Navigate to Settings
- Click on Site collection Features
- Browse through it and activate "Open Documents in Client Applications by Default" feature.
