How to get an alert on web form link button click event without using jQuey and javascript?

AFAIK, it is not possible. However, if you still want the same,you can consider to use other scripting languages like vb script :

I am not sure why do you need alert box on link button click. Basically alert() is a javascript function. If you won't use javascript how do display the alert box.
