About Decimal Format

hello,

I am getting my decimal value output as $4.995

But I want to display it as $4.99, without 3rd decimal digit.

I tried doing it as string format (), but I'm getting it in the round off as $5, but I want my output as $4.99

Well, thats the thumb rule of Mathematics, in case you have custom requirement, you can just use Extension method for it or try like
Math.Round(4.995, 2, MidpointRounding.ToZero);
or an extension method like below
public static class Extension
    {
        public static decimal TruncateDecimalPlaces(this decimal value, int places = 2)
        {
            return Math.Floor((decimal)value * (decimal)Math.Pow(10, places)) / (decimal)Math.Pow(10, places);
        }
    }
Usage
decimal d = 4.995M;
var dAmt= d.TruncateDecimalPlaces());
You will get your desired output

I am using your solution, but I am getting output as 5.00 which I am not looking for.
I want amount to be 4.99, NOT 5.00

youcan use remove function
var amount = "$4.995";
string str = amount.Remove(amount.IndexOf('.')+3);
o/p: $4.99

Various ways to achieve that
1. Use Math.Round(4.995,2);

or
decimal amt = 4.995;
var formattedAmt = amt.ToString("0.00");
