Accessing Methods written in a .cs file in a Page

Are you new to OOP (object-oriented programming)? All methods in C# belong to objects, that is, you have to have an instance of object in order to call (or use class name in case of static objects). Why have you written it into a separate file? You can write it into codebehind page. Or, if you want to use separate class, you have a few choices. code in codebehind page : Class1 instance = new Class1(); // now you can call instance.FetchData(); or, if the FetchData method is declared as static, you can call : Class1.FetchData();

I have written the fetchData method in a New CS File.It is not webform1.aspx.cs file.I have created a new class file with the help of VS.NET and written the method in Class1.cs file.I got an error saying that not able to access the method FetchData()

What kind of error you got? In which file the fetch data is implemented? In the codebehind file (the same where your page_load is)?
