Any Rule Is There That only one form should be open????

Hey frnds..

Is any rule there, that at a time only one form should be open MDI for in windows desktop application????

Someone told me that this the Standard of a sw that, only one form should be open...

But i m in little bit confusion..

So is that a standard rule...Please....

I do not think there is a standard rule that only 1 child form should be opened in a MDI application at a given instance. It completely depends on the business logic that you've defined in your application and is OK to open multiple forms as well. I feel opening 2 or 3 child forms is OK but going beyond that confuses a lot of users.

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking but it is possible for multiple MDI parent forms to be open at the same time and for each of those MDI parents to have multiple MDI child forms open.

Whether you'd want to do this is another matter as, in my experience, having one family of MDI forms open is usually confusing enough :)
